Despite this progress, however, there are significant differences in its adoption across the individual phases of the software development lifecycle. While AI is widely used for coding and maintenance, its use in design (31,7%), testing (29,2%), and analysis (25,2%) still has room for improvement.

The use of AI in software development offers numerous advantages. Companies primarily expect increased efficiency (73,9%) and a reduction in time-consuming tasks for their employees (71,9%). Furthermore, AI improves code quality, aids in error detection, and supports developers with intelligent suggestions. However, there are also challenges: Implementation requires specific expertise, and many companies are still in the early stages of AI adoption.

Although some companies are still hesitant, a clear trend toward increased AI integration is emerging. Nearly 70% of software companies plan to use AI more extensively in the future, and 65,8% intend to invest specifically in AI technologies. This involves not only optimizing its use in existing processes but also driving the development of new AI-powered software products.
