Automating NOGA code assignment with AI

The Institute for Young Entrepreneurs (IFJ) It supports founders in setting up their businesses and offers digital services for company formation, commercial register changes and trademark protection.

One of the challenges faced by the IFJ was the time-consuming and error-prone manual assignment of NOGA codes for company purposes. NOGA codes are a classification system in Switzerland used to define economic activities and play a significant role in reporting and statistics.

Comitas developed NogaBot, a web-based plugin that enables the automated assignment of NOGA codes for company purposes. NogaBot was trained on an AI model, which was extensively tested and optimized before being deployed to the live environment.

Thanks to NogaBot, the IFJ was able to significantly accelerate the assignment of NOGA codes while simultaneously improving accuracy. The project exemplifies how AI can be used efficiently to automate manual processes.
