Scayan GmbH With its holistic corporate health program, Scayan has created an offering that supports companies in sustainably promoting the well-being of their employees. At the heart of this program is the HappyCells website, which serves as the central hub for interaction, information, and communication between companies, participants, and Scayan. To make this experience even more accessible and user-friendly, Scayan commissioned Comitas to develop a mobile app for Android and iOS – the HappyCells app.
From idea to reality
Scayan's vision was to create a mobile solution that seamlessly integrates with and complements the existing HappyCells website. The app was designed to guide users through all phases of the HappyCells program – from the initial information exchange and onboarding to the intensive use of the comprehensive services offered.

Challenges and technological solutions
One of the biggest challenges was implementing tracking functionality for various devices – both Android and iOS smartphones, as well as external devices like smartwatches. Thanks to Comitas' expertise, this complex feature was successfully integrated, along with the smooth deployment of the app to the App Store. Close collaboration with Scayan enabled the timely implementation of all key features, despite numerous change requests and adjustments. An agile approach allowed for the release of the latest version of the app every two weeks, facilitating continuous testing and optimization.
Technologies used
The development of the HappyCells app was based on state-of-the-art technologies. The frontend was implemented using Flutter, an open-source UI development platform. The backend logic and the database, implemented by Scayan themselves, are based on Laravel and MariaDB.
