Falleri Fallera 2.0 App: Promoting culture digitally and combining tradition with modern technology
Digitalization has revolutionized many areas of our lives in recent years, and culture is no exception. A remarkable development in this context is the Falleri Fallera 2.0 app, a collaborative redesign by Comitas and Marco Deplazes. This app combines tradition and modern technology and aims to promote culture and traditional song lyrics digitally.
The goal of the project was to create a powerful and versatile application with Flutter that enables seamless deployment in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store for existing and new users, as well as a web-based back-office application for efficient management of song lyrics and extensions.
The project also included the development of a fully functional backend REST API and the implementation of a Microsoft SQL database to manage and store the extensive collection of song lyrics. The following technical approach was used:
Flutter for cross-platform development: The application was developed with Flutter, a flexible framework for a unified codebase for iOS and Android.
Web application for the back office: A web-based back office was developed for easy management of song lyrics. It offered content administrators an intuitive interface for adding, editing, and organizing song lyrics in the database.
Backend REST API: The application used a robust RESTful API for communication between the frontend and backend. It processed user requests from the applications and the back office and interacted with the Microsoft SQL database.
The Falleri Fallera 2.0 app is poised to shape the future of digital cultural promotion. It allows singing enthusiasts, choir members, singing groups, and yodelers to pursue their passion, expand their knowledge, and share the beauty of traditional songs with others. It will be interesting to see how this app evolves and contributes to the digital promotion of culture.
