For the general agents and trustees of the insurance company, it is necessary to access the master data of the employees, information about their wages and their accounting data for their work. The group stores this data centrally in an SAP system. Comitas AG has now developed an application called U-GA Portal for a Swiss insurance company, which automates this process.

The tasks of the software

First, it is generally necessary to transfer the data from the SAP system to the application. To automate this process, the developers integrated a suitable interface. A plausibility check is then performed, and if successful, the software transfers the data to the Abacus instances of the individual representatives. It doesn't simply transmit the data, but rather decides independently, based on the current data, in what format the information must be presented and whether it is necessary to delete existing information. Abacus then sends a response file back to the U-GA Portal, which it evaluates. Furthermore, the system saves all transmitted data separately, allowing for verification at a later time.

Numerous advantages

The new system significantly simplifies the rather complex workflow. Before its implementation, data transfer was partially manual. This took employees several days each month, and errors frequently crept in. The automated transfer now takes only about 40 minutes and ensures high data reliability. General agents benefit from being able to access the information at any time. Furthermore, the portal automatically generates reports—for example, a balance sheet and an income statement. These tools also considerably facilitate the agents' work.
