Digital transformation in child and youth welfare
Development of a new specialist application for child and youth welfare
Comitas AG has begun developing a modern application for child and youth welfare services. The project aims to sustainably digitize and streamline the recording, management, and evaluation of support and protection services within the social welfare system.
Digitalization in social services: Current situation and challenges
Previously, many processes were handled manually – for example, via Excel spreadsheets or email. This approach resulted in high administrative overhead, media breaks, and increased susceptibility to errors. The new software solution aims to eliminate these weaknesses.
Objectives of the new solution
The new specialized application for social services is being developed as a user-friendly, secure, and scalable platform. It aims to improve data quality, automate work processes, and increase transparency.
Planned features include:
- Digital recording and management of service providers and service recipients
- Central overview of offers and benefits
- Automated interfaces to existing specialist systems
- Testing mechanisms and alarm functions for high data quality
- Individual analyses and exports for controlling, statistics and forecasts
- Digital annual audits with optimized testing and correction processes
Safety and Operations
A special focus is placed on data protection and IT security. The specialized software is operated in a protected environment, daily backups ensure reliability, and modern security standards protect sensitive personal data.
Significance for the future
The project launch lays the foundation for a future-proof application for child and youth welfare services. The new software will help advance digitalization in the social sector, simplify processes, and create transparency. This will provide sustainable support to specialist agencies, enabling them to best promote and protect children and young people.
