Practical example AGSM – Order management software for excavation
AGSM clearly demonstrates why digital order management in landfill operations is not simply an IT issue. It's about throughput at the weighbridge, complete order data, fewer queries, and faster invoicing.
The initial situation was typical for many clean excavation landfills: orders were recorded via PDF forms, data had to be transferred manually, customers were not directly integrated into the system, and seamless communication was not possible. At the same time, several systems were in use: the Boch weighing system, a standard order management system, and an accounting system.
The process could therefore not be fully mapped. This is precisely where the effort arises in everyday practice: not at the individual weighing, but between order, inspection, scales, weighbridge ticket, customer and invoice.
From PDF process to digital order processing
In the new process, the customer enters the order directly into the portal. AGSM reviews the order and can approve, reject, or correct it. The Boch weighing system then recognizes the vehicle via license plate recognition, checks the stored order, and releases the scale.
After weighing, the weighbridge ticket is generated and is available for the customer to view in the AGSM system. The data then flows to the invoicing and accounting systems.
This transforms many individual steps into a central process chain. This is particularly relevant for materials such as uncontaminated excavated and demolition material VVEA type A, uncontaminated removed topsoil and subsoil, uncontaminated track excavation, as well as processing residues and other waste from the washing and cleaning of mineral resources.
When the scale becomes the point of passage
The automated weighing process is one of the project's most powerful tools. Thanks to integrated license plate recognition, the system identifies the vehicle, checks the corresponding order, and releases the scale if the information is correct.
That leads to a 20 to 30% faster processingFor AGSM, this means: higher throughput per day without requiring additional staff at the scale. The scale thus becomes less of a bottleneck and more of a controlled throughput point.
What AGSM gains economically
What digital order management actually brings
The practical example of AGSM demonstrates how digital order management measurably improves throughput, data quality, customer service and invoicing.
License plate recognition automatically checks the vehicle and order. This increases throughput without requiring additional scale operators.
The customer portal only accepts orders if they are complete and valid. This reduces missing information and unnecessary queries to 0%.
Customers can download weighbridge tickets and invoices directly from their own account. This reduces administrative burden and customer communication.
The automated data flow from order release through weighing to invoicing reduces manual interventions and corrections.
Invoices can be generated with just a few clicks immediately after the vehicle leaves the premises. This shortens the process from service to invoice.
The No-Admin Customer Portal
The customer portal doesn't simply shift the workload to the customer without any oversight. It guides the customer through a streamlined process. Integrated validation checks ensure that an order can only be submitted if it is complete and valid.
This is economically important. Every missing piece of information usually generates queries, waiting times, and unbilled administrative costs. If these gaps are prevented during data entry, data quality improves before the first delivery.
Order management software as a central hub
At AGSM, the order management software forms the central hub for all orders. It combines customer registration, verification, license plate recognition, weighing, weighbridge ticket, reporting, and invoicing in a seamless process.
The benefit lies not only in fewer media breaks. Crucially, orders, weighing data, and invoicing information are aligned sooner. Services can be invoiced more quickly, less capital remains tied up in open transactions, and less administrative correction is required.
The system can also be used from any location and operated on desktops, tablets, and smartphones. For operations, administration, and management, this means that relevant information is not tied to a single workstation. Inquiries can be answered more quickly, and processes remain visible even when working remotely.
AGSM demonstrates what order management software can achieve in the area of landfill type A: higher throughput, less manual work, better data quality and a significantly faster connection between order, scale and invoice.
