New web portal for Olympic bobsleigh run

The Company Olympic Bob Run (OBR) ORB organizes bobsleigh races, training runs, and so-called "taxi rides" on its ice track—where guests ride with an experienced pilot. ORB had the idea of using a web portal to organize these events. This portal was intended to make registration easy, especially for customers—guests and athletes.

The implementation of the web portal

The new portal consists of a public, a private, and an admin area. The publicly accessible pages contain general information about the bobsleigh track—for example, its track profile. To book guest or training rides and to register for a race, users need to create an account. Users can create their own accounts, allowing them to reserve rides and view the results of their previous runs. Only a few OBR employees have access to the admin area. Here, they can add new events, set prices, and use a comprehensive search function to find details about rides or customers. It's also possible to manually enter reservations—for example, when a phone order comes in.

Connection to a local application

OBR uses a local application for conducting races and training sessions. To ensure smooth operation, the programmers at Comitas have implemented corresponding interfaces that allow for data exchange. For example, the web portal transmits registration data to the application, ensuring that all necessary data is available for the race. Conversely, the application transmits race results, photos, and videos to the web portal. This allows athletes to view their results or access recordings of their rides.

Should your company also require a web portal for collecting customer data or organizing business processes, Comitas AG will be happy to assist you. Simply schedule a consultation and learn more about our services!
